Ability Online

This infographic sums up everything the site offers quite well!

Louis gets a shout out as the new Ability Online Cyber Dad on the Disability Network page!

Ability Online Making History Event
“You’re invited to join us for a historic evening of great food, big laughs and inspiration.
We all know that laughter is the best medicine, and with Colin Mochrie and Deb McGrath as our celebrity guests for the evening, the laughter is a given. While you stroll through history in the Dinosaurs and Mammals Galleries at the ROM, you’ll be tempted by tasty morsels, including some from Chef Keith Hoare, a winner of Chopped Canada, Season One. Keith will be available for Q&A and autographs. And, to add to the excitement, we’ll be selling mini dinosaur eggs. And every egg wins a prize. Family and supporting families is one of the many things that makes Ability Online special, so children of all ages and abilities are welcome.”

Wednesday, November 11th, 2015
at The Royal Ontario Museum
Toronto, Canada

Hearing Screenings at GNC
From the GNC Facebook Page: “As many of you may know, one of the many barriers our men face is access to medical professionals. Once a week an Audiologist performs hearing tests on-site and facilitates access to affordable hearing aids. To date in 2015, they have completed 74 hearing tests, identified 26 members needing aids and secured 7 hearing aids.”

The Good Neighbours Club appeared in the United Way Toronto & York Region‘s campaign video.

And the epic renovations at the GNC Headquarters continue…

The GNC kitchen freezer gave up the ghost in the middle of summer, so a mobile replacement had to be hauled in…

… but at least the new elevator is almost ready! After some 4 months without an elevator this is cause for celebration!

Please help GNC finish the renovations before the winter comes – every penny helps! Click on the banner below for an easy and secure donations process.

HSBC Bank is providing funding to provide educational support for 3,000 current and former youth in care. Only 30% of young people involved in the child welfare system graduated high school last year, compared to 88% of youth not in care. There is great need to support these children! Please help out if you can by making a contribution – however small – to The Children’s Aid Foundation by clicking on the banner below.

UBCP AWARDS

Louis has been nominated for the UBCP Award for Best Actor!

The Union of British Columbia Performers has its awards ceremony in late Fall; this year the event will be on November 7th at the Vancouver Playhouse.

The Vancouver Sun has a report about the nominations.

FILMING NEWS

The Romeo Section

Louis has filmed an episode of The Romeo Section which also stars one of his best friends, Eugene Lipinski. He will film five more episodes early next year when principal photography for MOTIVE has wrapped.

Keep your fingers crossed that the series gets picked up in the US!

The Romeo Section also gets a shout-out on Buzzfeed.com as one of the 22 shows every Canadian needs in their life!

Saving Goola

Louis voiced the character of Peanut the Monkey in this animated feature a few years ago, and it has been released in Asia. Originally titled “Goola City” it seems to have been renamed “Saving Goola”, and some sources call it “Adventures on Bubble Island“. Perhaps one of our friends from China or Southeast Asia could report in (email now!) and confirm the release?

20 Moves

In the summer of 2014 Louis filmed a documentary about the Rubik’s Cube called 20 Moves. The show aired on the Canadian Biography Channel in July of this year. Stay tuned for more info!

Meanwhile, here’s some spiffy animated cover art and a short animation.

AN INTERVIEW WITH EUGENE LIPINSKI

This month we’re thrilled to bring you an exclusive interview with veteran actor Eugene Lipinski. He and Louis have been friends for about 20 years, ever since they worked together on the movie Boozecan. This Fall they’ve been able to work together on both The Romeo Section and Troy Mundle’s Ghost Unit.

Read and listen to the interview and an introduction from Louis on Eugene Lipinski’s Page!

MOTIVE

Season 4 of MOTIVE starts filming tomorrow, September 21. We look forward to all kinds of goodies in the adventures of the MOTIVE gang.

Sadly, there are currently no plans to air any more episodes in the US but we’ll keep you updated on DVD releases in other countries.

Meanwhile, a rather well-made video is making the rounds, claiming that “Vancouver never plays itself”. Evidently the filmmakers have ignored MOTIVE which never hides the fact that it is shot and takes place in Vancouver!

Even so, the short video is an amazing collection of movies and TV shows that were filmed in Vancouver but take place elsewhere. Watch it to spot some familiar MOTIVE locations!

PHOTOS

We have a number of photos from the recent filming of Ghost Unit – thanks to Troy Mundle for sharing!
