Ability Online

Ability Online has a blog - here is their latest post: From Bullying to Barbells By Jess Silver

Ability Gives introduces their current child Zain:

Zain is eight years old and has cerebral palsy and epilepsy. He has great difficulty sitting on his own. This creates a safety concern for him when riding in the family car. He is now too big for a traditional car seat, and requires a larger, adapted seat so that he can travel safely in the car with his family. Because it is adapted, it is much more expensive than a traditional car seat.

Zain’s family is unable to afford the more expensive car seat, but wanting to ensure his safety they are hoping you will support them by making a donation.

Thank you in advance for your support - 100% of funds raised for Ability Gives goes directly to a child in need.
You can also contribute to the many programs Ability Online supports so that children with disabilities can have a safe, monitored online community where they can interact without fear of being bullied. Please click on the logo below - every penny makes a difference!

Haven Toronto

Haven Toronto, the daytime shelter for elder homeless men, has a new way for you to contribute: Shop and Share

How does Shop and Share work?
Haven Toronto has identified items of need for our clients. Many are day-to-day items that some, more fortunate people, take for granted. You can purchase the items you wish to donate from three product categories: 'Clothing', 'Personal Care' and 'Food & Services'.

If you prefer gifts-in-kind to donating money, this is a great way to help with real needed items! Even so, all contributions are tax-deductible to extent allowed by law.

Haven Toronto has Ninja donors - people who stealthily drop off high-quality donation items without anybody seeing them: in the blink of an eye large donations appear at the reception counter. Maybe you don't have the mad skillz it takes to be an actual ninja - but you can always be a ninja donor!

There are several new articles on the Haven Toronto blog - check it out!
You can make a regular donation anytime at our very own donation site - just click on the logo below and follow the instructions, it's quick, easy, secure and tax-deductible.

The Children's Aid Foundation

You can always catch up on the latest news for the Children's Aid Foundation with the online newsletter The Buzz.

And you can make a donation at any time on our very own donations page and help disadvantaged kids in foster care to get a great start in life. Click on the logo and away you go!

For all those of you who have been asking - Louis is no longer on Twitter; he has deleted his account, so be sure to bookmark Ferreira Fest so you can get your Louis news once a month! He's focusing more on his family now, and as most of us know, social media can be quite a distraction.

Louis visited with Dennis Heaton in the Ghost Wars production offices last week. Kristin Lehman, his former co-star from MOTIVE, happened to stop by and presto - mini-MOTIVE-reunion! Kristin has a recurring role in Ghost Wars.
Mini Motive Reunion with Kristin, Louis and Dennis

Our Photobucket screencap page will be retired over the next few months. Photobucket has blocked third-party hosting which means you can no longer embed images from their site.
No worries - all photos will still be available at the addresses hotlinked on the Screencaps Page, but if you embedded them anywhere they will no longer be seen. Likewise none of the embedded slideshows in past Ferreira Fests will work anymore but you can still download them for your personal use.

This month we're re-visiting Season 1 of MOTIVE. We have 381 screencaps from episode 105 Public Enemy.

Here is also a direct link to the album: https://ferreirafestscreencaps.shutterfly.com/pictures/1230

As mentioned above we have switched our external storage sites, since our previous site no longer supports third-party hosting (you can no longer embed photos from the old site on other sites). You're still able to follow the site links and download the photos for your personal use. We will migrate all the screencap photos to the new site over the next few months.

The second monthly reading series is Mr. Mugs - Meet My Pals by Martha Kambeitz, Denise Burns and Josephine Proctor.

Louis credits the Mr. Mugs books series with helping him to learn English at a very young age. The Mr. Mugs books have been out of print for many years but occasionally you can find them on eBay, Amazon Marketplace or various other antique book dealers.
You can listen to the book readings on the Reading Series Page.
Here is this month's chapter.

Listen to the sound clip here:

Chapter 15: Cathy's Surprise

Cathy's Surprise

Hi Cathy.
Can you come to my house?
It's a surprise!
Hi Pat!
A surprise?
What is it?

Look, Cathy.
See Mr.. Mugs.
He likes to play like this!
Come on, Mr Mugs.
Faster! Faster!

It's fun, Pat.
Mr. Mugs likes it.
He likes to go fast!
Come on, Cathy!
You go.
Hang on!

To be continued next month...
Will Cathy jump?
Will she go back to Pat?
Will Mr. Mugs get Tiger?

Troy worked as a Set Decorator for a project:

"Well. Did my first real day of Set Dec yesterday. It's not acting, directing or writing. But it's just so nice to be around like minded individuals and be working on set. Had a great time working my ass off for 12 hours yest. Plus - had a chance to walk past one of my childhood idols a few times."

Every month Vancouver artist Nicole Pilich shares one of her henna creations with Ferreira Fest. Please visit her website for lots more photos and fascinating facts and information about this ancient artform. And if you find yourself in Vancouver - visit her studio and treat yourself to some Healing Body Art made just for you.

Nicole has been witnessing the terrible wildfires in British Columbia first-hand, and so this month she writes:

"Here is a before and after shot of a Sitka tree henna tattoo celebrating the west coast of British Columbia where I live. When the paste goes on it looks dark brown, this dries and then it is flaked away. The resulting stain is a reddish brown colour. It takes 48 hours to achieve this stain and it can last up to two weeks."

And that, dear Friends, is about it for this month! Thanks for visiting often! Be sure to follow us on Twitter for all the Louis news you can handle and TV reminders!

If you have comments, questions or suggestions, there are many ways to make your voice heard:
