CHARITIES NEWS

Ability Online

The 20th Annual Axion Golf Tournament fundraiser raised over $30,000 for Ability Online. Congratulations!

Happily Ever Laughter on October 24th at Second City is another upcoming fundraiser - an evening of food, fun and laughter!

Ability Gives - Lily

Three year old Lily has a rare genetic disorder known as 2q37 deletion syndrome as well as Trisomy 14, GERD.

Lily has low muscle tone, hydrocephalus, hearing and vision issues, and horseshoe kidneys. Lily is also non-verbal, and she underwent heart surgery in 2014. That’s a lot for one little girl to handle.

To help Lily’s low muscle tone, and give her a special childhood experience of being able to ride, Lily needs an adapted bike. These specialized bikes are designed specifically for the child who will be riding it and this is what makes these bikes so expensive.

We need to raise $3400 in order to give Lily an adapted bike. Not only will it help her physically, but it truly will be a gift of independence and childhood fun!

THE NEW READING SERIES: MR. MUGS - MEET MY PALS

The second monthly reading series is Mr. Mugs - Meet My Pals by Martha Kambeitz, Denise Burns and Josephine Proctor.

Louis credits the Mr. Mugs books series with helping him to learn English at a very young age. The Mr. Mugs books have been out of print for many years but occasionally you can find them on eBay, Amazon Marketplace or various other antique book dealers.

You can listen to the book readings on the Reading Series Page.
Here is this month's chapter.
